Pairings Food and Wine Event

Pairings Restaurant Tour - downtown West Palm Beach

For those who enjoy a brew and a bite, downtown West Palm Beach has made an indelible mark on the foodie map. Restaurants, eateries, bars and walk-up windows line Clematis from the 500 block to the Waterfront, offering an array of flavors and ethnic cuisine, while offshoot-streets have continued to evolve into dining enclaves in their own right.

To celebrate this mélange of culinary likings, the Downtown Development Authority is taking folks on a foodie tour with the third annual Pairings Food and Wine Event on Thursday, May 29. The concept is simple: Participating downtown bars and restaurants will put together a specialty menu item and matching beverage for tour-takers to try. The dining samples can be anything, whether an entrée, a tasty tapas bite or a devilishly delightful dessert, while the sip can range from a specialty cocktail or craft brew to aperitifs and cappuccino.

Pairings Food and Wine Event - Downtown West Palm Beach   A great way to expand local foodie knowledge, Pairings is essentially an upscale pub crawl with food. For $25 ($30 the day of the event), foodies and the epi-curious can sample their way through some of the newest faces on the block while visiting old favorites, all while meeting likeminded food enthusiasts along the way. The trolleys will be running continuously, dropping patrons to and fro, while maps marking participating restaurants will be available for those looking to hoof it. As an added bonus, a portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit Families First of Palm Beach County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to “create a safe, healthy and sustainable environment for children and their families.”
