A West Palm Beach holiday tradition once again unfurls as the
Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens opens their doors for the fifth annual Festival of Trees. This year’s theme takes its cues straight out of Hollywood with the “Magic of the Movies,” enticing a number of imaginative designs all steeped in the Silver Screen tradition. Classic films like Casablanca and The King and I commingle with newer, more child-friendly flicks like Finding Nemo, Up and The Nightmare Before Christmas, each tree representing its respective film with characters, scene depictions and more. This year, 34 trees will grace the lawns, gardens and courtyards of the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, each unique and noteworthy in its own right.
The Festival of Trees is one of the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens’ major fundraising events, not only for the gardens but also for its Community Enrichment Program that includes exhibitions, literacy days, Earth days and student visits to give the next generation a better understanding of art within the community. Each year, trees sponsored by area
patrons and businesses are designed by an array of interior designers, area artists, architects and floral artists. Volunteers, designers and patrons scramble to assemble the works of art, transforming the sculpture gardens into a magical Christmas wonderland. Paired with a dazzling lightshow and performances by local musicians, dancers and theater performers dressed as holiday characters, the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens' family-friendly event has become one of the most anticipated events of the holiday season.
The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens' fifth annual Festival of Trees comes to life December 2 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the gala reception, followed by Community Evening, December 3, 4 and 7-11, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Gala reception tickets cost $225 for nonmembers ($175 for members), $25 for children and $40 for nanny.
- Community Evening tickets cost $15 per adult and $5 for children.
