Grand Champions Polo Club - Player Profiles - Jason Crowder

Grand Champions Polo Club is located in the heart of Florida's equestrian capital. Many of polo's finest players call Wellington home.  Some have literally grown up with polo. The sport surrounds them. Wellington offers players an environment where they can train, develop and learn from one another. With it's schedule of fall and spring tournaments, Grand Champions is able to assemble some of the nation's best players while they are right here in our back yard.

“I pretty much sold everything and drove my horses to Florida. I didn’t have a job with a team, but I just knew I had to be there.” This all-in approach to polo is the type of commitment to the game displayed on the field by Jason Crowder. A 6-goaler from California, Crowder burst onto the national high-goal scene in 2010 following stand out performances during the summer season in Santa Barbara.

Playing with John Muse’s Lucchese, Crowder joined Muse, 10-goaler Adolfo Cambiaso and Andres Weisz in a sweep of three 20-goal tournaments at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club. Jason capped the summer with an MVP award in the season-finale 2010 Pacific Coast Open.

In the summer of 2011, Jason joined Piaget in the 20-goal season at Santa Barbara. Again he made it to the finals of the Pacific Coast Open. Piaget did not claim the top prize in that tournament, but after the final Jason was presented with the Robert Skene Award as MVP of the entire season. A gifted rider and clever player, Jason has a solid fan base both inside and outside the boards.

This is Crowder’s first appearance at Grand Champions Polo Club. He arrived early to play the fall season and get ready for the 2012 tournaments at the International Polo Club - Palm Beach. Jason is an integral part of the Piaget Polo Team which is participating in the 20-goal series. He is playing alongside team captain Melissa Ganzi, 9-goaler Miguel Novilla-Astrada and veteran 5-goaler Juan Bollini.
