As I’m lucky enough to have a variety of the latest products come across my desk, my makeup routine involves a revolving variety of the “latest and greatest” products. I’m always on the lookout for “the one.” In the realm of foundation products, I believe I’ve found them.
Perricone MD’s No Concealer Concealer and No Foundation Foundation surprised me at first, because with their titles, I wasn’t expecting color. In my mind, I thought the product would be clear or would go on clear, a little bit like a primer. To my surprise, both have skin-toned hues, called a “universal shade for all skin tones.” Even with my light complexion, both seem to be just the right color for my skin.
As a Florida resident, I make sure that all of my moisturizer and makeup products have sunscreen, and I was particularly attracted to the high SPF (35 for concealer, 30 for foundation) of both, some of the highest in makeup I’ve seen. The fact that the SPF is non-chemical mineral based and broad spectrum is a definite bonus.
As I’ve aged, I’ve developed a few issues, including some red patches on my face that will flake and scale if I’m not careful about my products or my stress level. I also have large pores. The makeup covers what I wanted covered, leaving a nice, even skin tone that looks moist and healthy during the day. I now have four makeup steps: Perricone concealer and foundation, a little bit of powder, blush and eye makeup.
You want your concealer and foundation to improve your looks when applied, but what really sold me on these products was the way my skin looked AFTER I remove my makeup at the end of the day. This is where I see the treatment side of Dr. Perricone’s products play out. At the end of the day, instead of tired skin in need of treatment, my skin looks better than it did in the morning before applying the products. Before bed, my blotchy skin has uniform color and looks smooth and healthy. In the few weeks that I’ve used both products, I feel my skin looks better every day. Perricone is available at Sephora.
