Swank Farms

Wondering what to get the foodies on your holiday list? Consider giving the gift of an organic, sustainable andSwank Table luncheon at Swank Farms in Loxahatchee locally grown meal, cooked by some of the area’s top chefs and accompanied by selected wines. Even better, you get to make a donation to charity at the same time.

Depending on your generosity, the lucky recipient will be able to attend one or all of this season’s Swank Table luncheons, held at Swank Farms in Loxahatchee. Here’s a quick list of the upcoming events, along with the theme, prices and the charity designated to receive part of the proceeds:

  • December 9, $200; Palm Beach Food and Wine Festival (Food4Thought)
  • January 26, $150: Pico de Garden Gala (The Milagro Center)
  • February 10, $150: Hot Pink Lunch (The Breast Cancer Research Foundation)
  • March 17, $150: Wearin’ O’ The Green Salad (The Red Cross)
  • April 7, $150: Genuinely Swank (James Beard Scholarship Foundation)

Co-ordinating the kitchen for the events is Lindsay Autry, Resident Chef for Swank Table. A graduate of Johnson and Wales in Miami, Lindsay inherited two culinary traditions---from her Greek grandfather and Southern grandmother. She worked with James Beard Award winning chef Michelle Bernstein at Azul at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami, and served as Executive Chef at Bernstein’s restaurant in Palm Beach.

Some of the participating chefs in the series are Chris Miracolo (Max’s Harvest, Delray), Clay Conley (Buccan, Palm Beach), Jim Leiken (Café Boulud, Palm Beach), Michael Schwartz (Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink, Miami) and Sean McDonald (Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort). The sommeliers include Jennie Benzie, Mariya Kovacheva, Erik Larkee and Stephanie Miskew.

All luncheons take place from noon-4 p.m. Visitors will tour the hydroponic growing houses at Swank Farms, then sit down for an al fresco meal and watch chefs prepare the food before their eyes, using ingredients picked from the farm.
