I’ve always had “hair envy.” My hair is on the thin, fine side; very curly and just usually does not cooperate. So, I have generally kept it super short and it has stood the test of time. Now, I’ve decided, I really, really want to grow it out. Nothing crazy, but probably long enough to wear in a short ponytail.
I’m usually leery of products that claim to do it all, you know, “smooth curls, stop frizz, extreme shine.” Yeah, yeah, I get it. However, along came a new product by Ouidad (you know, the company that is known for taming wild curls, making them look luxurious regardless the lion’s mane?), Salon Series Mediterranean Bay Leaf Exfoliating Hair & Scalp Treatment. It has lots of spa-sounding ingredients like: macadamia glycerides, grape see oil, bamboo, etc. and is supposed to exfoliate and treat the scalp to rid it of excess sebum, which they say can weight hair down and make it dull and lifeless.
Well, I think they’re on to something; my hair is light and fluffy as a soufflé at Daniel Boulud and easy to flat iron, making my attempt at growing out my hair a real possibility. Move over Jennifer Aniston, there’s a new gorgeous head of hair in town. . . and it’s not yours!
