Quest for the Holy Grail

The Holy Grail is hidden in Delray Beach. I repeat: The Holy Grail is hidden in Delray Beach. Well, not the Holy Grail but a number of Holy Grails.

Entr'Acte Theatrix theater company has hidden chalices throughout Delray Beach in promotion of its upcoming production of the musical Monty Python's Spamalot, running from June 20-30 at the Crest Theatre at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts.

Spamalot, the 2005 Tony Award winning best musical, is a loving rip-off of the 1975 cult classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Conceived by the hilariously maniacal minds of the British comedy team Monty Python, the film is 90-minutes of quotable lines, physical humor and coconut sound effects. The musical possesses the same offbeat charm as the film augmented by quirky songs such as "I am Not Dead Yet" and "Song that Goes Like This."

If you'd like to catch Spamalot free of charge, then you better begin your own quest for the Holy Grail. The cast and crew have hidden Grails in obvious and not-so-obvious spots in Delray. Anyone who unearths one of the sanctified cups will be awarded two tickets to the performance of his or her choice. This quest extends through the production's run, so keep your eyes out for a Grail. Also, if you spot someone in a Spamalot tee shirt then you'll know a Grail is nearby. If you discover a chalice, contact Entr'Acte Theatrix at 561-366-9033, and don't forget to bring the goblet with you to the theatre on performance day. Happy searching!
