The play portrays the final holiday broadcast of the struggling Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade as it takes to the air during World War II to record its broadcast for the troops overseas. It features hit songs from the era, dancing and old time sound effects.
It’s the story of a harassed producer whose lead singer is often drunk, a delivery boy who wants a chance behind the mic, a second banana who dreams of singing a ballad and a trumpet-playing sound effects man who chooses a fighter plane over Glenn Miller.
