Join us during the inaugural Big Art/Miniature Golf exhibition for a mini-golf course designed by artists. Featuring 12 extreme and inventive holes, this mini-golf course will take over the Museum’s main gallery. Designed for those long summer months, the Museum’s galleries will be transformed into an interactive 18-hole mini golf course. The course will not only be artistic and incorporate a lot of ideas, but will also be playable, for our enthusiastic, club-wielding public. Bring family and friends for a remarkably creative, fun and slightly competitive experience!
Miniature golf courses encapsulate important American postwar innovations: kitsch, repetitive design, manicured lawns, and concession-stand cuisine. Artist-designed miniature golf courses are a favorite family past-time. Artists and designers have answered the Museum’s invitation to create green-themed holes, pitching ideas destined to challenge players’ senses as much as their games.
