The West Palm Beach Library Foundation will host Ronnie Gerstel, puppeteer extraordinaire, as she presents the original puppet show, “Tales of Togetherness.” Based on two children’s books and commissioned by the Palm Beach County School District, the production is geared toward children ages three to ten and promotes the messages of tolerance and acceptance. This is an entertaining way for children to learn life lessons from an award-winning puppeteer. The event is sponsored by Lyn Harris and inSIGHT Through Education, Inc.
This presentation is part of Banned and Burned: Literary Censorship and the Loss of Freedom, an emotional and unforgettable series of events that will feature the traveling exhibition, Fighting the Fires of Hate: America and the Nazi Book Burnings from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The eight-week presentation runs through January 6, 2013 and provides a vivid look at the first steps the Nazis took to suppress freedom of expression, and the strong response from the United States.
