 Celebrate the Year of the Snake with the 36^th annual Oshogatsu New Year’s celebration! Truly a family festival, Oshogatsu is loved by local residents and visitors of all ages as they take part in Japanese games and customs, such as mochitsuki rice pounding, taiko drumming, Shishimai the Lion Dancer, tea ceremony, New Year fortune telling and more. Plus, the Morikami added exciting new activities that include a DIY Daruma Wall for New Year wishes, “Introducing Oshogatsu” talks, open-air koto performances and calligraphy demonstrations, an exclusive museum collection exhibit and signature Oshogatsu t-shirt printing by The Fine Print Shoppe.
