There is no greater proof of the universality of jazz and classical music than the career and life work of violinist Federico Britos. This titan of the violin, who is equally adept within the world of jazz music as he is in the classical realm, has built a solid reputation worldwide. In the span of his career, he has performed with almost all the living legends, including Dizzy Gillespie, Dexter Gordon, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Woody Herman and Benny Goodman. Grammy winner Paquito d’Rivera credits Britos with introducing bossa nova in Cuba, and he has since gained recognition as one of the most versatile and talented instrumentalists of his generation. He has won five Grammy awards and collaborated on countless albums.
Britos will be on hand for one night only, performing at the Arts Garage and its acclaimed Jazz Project series.
