Featuring world renowned pianist Natasha Paremski tickling the ivories, the South Florida Symphony will embark on a musical adventure, through literature, for their second installment of the Master Concert series with the concert “Epic Heroes and Their Goddesses.” The evening begins with Rachmaninov’s “Piano Concerto No. 3,” with Paremski leading the charge. This will be followed by Richard Strauss’ tone poem, Macbeth, a musical portrayal of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth’s ambition and subsequent madness. For the third movement, the concert will shift to Finnish composer Jean Sibelius and his tone poem Pohjola’s Daughter, an ode to the Finnish national epic Kalevala. For the final composition, the South Florida Symphony Orchestra taps French composer Claude Debussy and his piano four-hands piece Marche écossaise sur un thème populaire, the great tribute to Scotland.
