Fewer than 300 Malayan Tigers are estimated to be left in the world. Four of these magnificent creatures live at the Palm Beach Zoo; mom Berapi and her three offspring Jaya, Bunga, and Penari. The cubs are the result of the Palm Beach Zoo’s participation in the Malayan Tiger Species Survival Plan, working with other accredited zoos to manage the population, protect habitat and stop poaching activities.
To celebrate this success story and the cubs’ second birthday, we are hosting the first-ever Palm Beach Zoo “Save the Tiger 5k” on May 11 at 7:30 am. This unique run winds through Dreher Park and finishes in the spectacular fountain plaza inside the Zoo. Help us save this beautiful, endangered species by registering here. Your donation, in addition to registration, contributes to tiger conservation including a planned expansion of our breeding center and exhibit area.
