This year the Diocese of Palm Beach celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Lumen Christi Gala. This black-tie event is the Bishop's annual dinner dance to benefit Catholic school education and our 17 Catholic schools.
The diocese is pleased to announce Mrs. Vera Ferola, a long-time supporter of Catholic Education and a past Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton award recipient, will serve as our chairperson. Felicia Rodriguez, WPBF 25 News Mornings Anchor, will be the special program guest. During the gala, Mr. Louis V. Gerstner Jr. will be awarded the Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Award. Honorary Chairperson is Most Reverend Gerald M. Barbarito, Bishop of Palm Beach.
The Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Award is presented to an individual who demonstrates a commitment to Catholic education, contributes in an exemplary manner to enhance our schools and demonstrates a dedication to making a difference in the lives of students.
The Catholic schools in the Diocese of Palm Beach provide for the education and formation of more than 6,000 students throughout the diocese's five counties. Attendance at this gala will help to support need-based scholarships, subsidies to schools serving a diverse student population as well as an education endowment fund.
