On Friday, December 13, Food For The Poor’s Fine Wines & Hidden Treasures Gala committee will host a pre-event party from 6-8 p.m. at Daniella Ortiz, a Worth Avenue store.
Food For The Poor’s 11th annual Palm Beach Gala, Fine Wines & Hidden Treasures, will be Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at The Mar-a-Lago Club. The annual event is chaired by distinguished Palm Beach philanthropists Donald and Melania Trump (National Honorary Chairs), Patrick Park (Grand Honorary Chair), Arlette Gordon and Elizabeth Bowden (Gala Co-Chairs), Mary Frances Turner (Vice-Chair), Herme de Wyman Miro (International Chair), and Russell Sherrill (Gentlemen’s Chair).
The Fine Wines & Hidden Treasures gala will open with a superb wine-tasting reception. The wine is underwritten by Dreyfus Ashby & Co., Republic National Distributing Company, and Trump Winery. Exotic escapes, jewelry, and fine wines are among the varied prizes in the silent auction. The evening culminates with a four-course gourmet dinner and wine pairing.
The 2014 Fine Wines & Hidden Treasures gala, through the generosity of Palm Beach residents, will fund a school in a poor rural area of Jamaica. The school will provide adequate classroom space, a proper sanitation system, and a nutritional facility where meals for the students can be prepared. The new school will create a comfortable environment that is conducive to learning. Proceeds from the gala also will provide items desperately needed to enrich the school curriculum: basic school furniture, sports and music program equipment, and a program that will offer a daily nutritious meal for the students.
