Creating Interesting and Memorable Outdoor Portraits

Hobe Sound, FL – June 7, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This course explores techniques for posing and for lighting creative outdoor portraits. Subject matter includes discussion of elements involved in positioning for environmental and formal portraits, guidelines for single and group portraits, and uses of tools including flash to manage varying outdoor lighting situations.
Leaders of the class, Bruce Bain and Durga Garcia, have a variety of experience teaching photography and exhibiting their work. Bruce Bain, the curator for the Kimbell Center Gallery, teaches and shows at various locations and galleries in the Palm Beaches. Bruce’s photos have won numerous awards in domestic and international galleries. Durga Garcia, a well-known portrait and commercial photographer, has also earned numerous domestic and international awards and presents at various European seminars.
A portion of the proceeds benefit the Friends of Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Inc., a community-based, non-profit organization. The Friends promotes the historical, educational, and ecological enhancement of Jonathan Dickinson State Park and is directly responsible for funding many park programs and improvements.
The four-hour program is $35 per person and includes park entry, class instruction, an outdoor photo shoot, and light refreshments. Group rates and schedules are available.
