Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Hosts Team Challenge Info Sessions, Fun Runs, Bowling Meet Ups & More!

August 2, 2014  10:00 AM

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is hosting a series of fun runs, meet-ups and informational meetings for their upcoming Team Challenge season. Through Team Challenge, participants can run or walk a half marathon (13.1 miles), or train for a triathlon or cycling event while helping to find a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, two chronic and often debilitating digestive diseases that impact more than 1.4 million Americans.

Those interested in participating will have the opportunity to compete in either the Clearwater Triathlon on November 9, 2014, the Las Vegas Rock ‘n Roll  Half Marathon on November 16, 2014, or the Palm Beaches Half-marathon on December 7, 2014. Participants will join CCFA in their goal to raise more than $160,000 to support research to find a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

In addition to the improved health, camaraderie, and support gained, participants receive:

  • Personalized fitness training by an experienced coach for a period of three to four months.
  • Expenses-paid weekend away to a great destination race.
  • A supportive team to train with each week.
  • Training clinics and helpful tips on topics like nutrition, hydration, injury prevention and shoe fit.
  • Team Manager, a dedicated staff person from CCFA who coordinates team events, guides you through fundraising, and is your #1 personal cheerleader.
  • Mentor, a past participant of Team Challenge who can show you the ropes and be your personal fundraising coach.
  • Team uniform including a training shirt and race day singlet.
