Running from November through April, Lynn University's 2014-15 Jan McArt's New Play Readings series will help develop new plays from highly acclaimed playwrights through staged readings at the Keith C. and Elaine Johnson Wold Performing Arts Center.
The series begins on November 3 withTony Finstrom's East Hampton, Last Summer. A retired opera star and her playwright companion spend the summer of 1960 in the Long Island resort town of East Hampton, where they soon find themselves competing with the local upper-middle classes in an atmosphere of extreme snobbery.
Note: Tony Finstrom is an award-winning playwright whose works have been included in Jan McArt’s New Play Reading Series for the past three years. He regularly contributes to Naked Stage’s 24-Hour Theatre Project and to Shorts Gone Wild produced by City Theatre and Island City Stage.
