The Armory Art Center presents the artists in residence farewell show, featuring the works of Bethany Krull, Doug Crocco, Tyra Forker, Stephanie Stuefer and Jill Oberman. Krull was a ceramic resident last season and returned this season as a resident in the sculpture department. Her porcelain and bronze sculptures reveal her fascination with the complexity and diversity of nature. Doug Crocco, a drawing and painting resident, focuses his artistic practice to the development of highly detailed color pencil drawings, pushing pencil and paper to achieve a finish as if it were paint or print. Stephanie Stuefer and Tyra Forker are both residents in the ceramics department. Stuefer creates organic pieces that embody functional yet sculptural qualities. Forker's pots are nostalgic and reminiscent of her childhood love of the natural world. Jill Oberman came to the Armory for a two-week visit in the ceramic studio in February 2010. Her ceramic sculpture explores the ways that people relate to each other through architectural and psychological protective structures.
