A contemporary re-imagining of Kafka’s Metamorphosis, The Trouble With Doug is a hilarious and moving new musical about a healthy young man who transforms inexplicably into a giant talking slug. Thrust together awkwardly under the same roof, Doug, his family, and his fiancée all struggle to understand and respond to this strangest of crises. Book and Music by Will Aronson Book and Lyrics by Daniel Maté.

The Plaza Theatre keeps the celebration going with an additional line up of cabaret and comedy thanks to its recent expansion in their Plaza del Mar location in Manalapan. The new space gives Plaza Theatre patrons restaurant style seating, a full-bar experience with a new Piano Bar, and an intimate evening of entertainment with these added performances. The new schedule for the space begins April 3 through August 16, with additional shows possible.
