This April, Fifth Third Bank is accepting some very different deposits: namely canned foods, peanut butter and boxes of cereal. It’s the organization’s Fourth Annual “Feeding our Communities” food drive in partnership with the Salvation Army.
Up until the 26th, all 65 Fifth Third Bank locations will have food bins to fill. The goal this year is to reach 5,300 pounds. An extra two-plus tons of nonperishables makes a big difference in replenishing the Salvation Army’s pantry, who provides up to 4,000 pounds of food to residents in Palm Beach County alone each month. In total, there are more than 810,000 South Floridians struggling with hunger, so a donation of any size goes a long way.
To donate, just stop by your most convenient Fifth Third Bank. And tell your friends and coworkers that every can and box helps—they all go directly towards feeding people in our community who may not otherwise know where their next meals are coming from.
