Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Sunset & Moonrise Tours

Stephen Brown

Best Views in the House

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse - Sunset and Moonrise Tours   Take in Florida’s fantastic sunset from the best spot in the county, atop the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum. First lit in 1860, the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse stands a commanding 105 feet tall (146 feet above sea level), giving adventurous climbers 25 miles of unobstructed views out to sea.

The sunset tours run weekly throughout the summer, and embark at 7:15 p.m. Partakers will see two spectacular light shows in one tour: the sun painting the sky oranges, reds and purples, then the lighthouse illuminating the night sky. Tour dates are as follows: June 6,11, 20 and 25; July 9, 18 and 23; August 1, 6, 15 and 20; and September 5, 10, 19 and 24—all tours are weather permitting.

For the night owl (relatively speaking), hike the steps for a moonrise tour on June 13 at 8 p.m., July 12 at 7:45 p.m., August 9 at 6:30 p.m., and September 8 at 6:30 p.m., which also happens to coincide with sunset, too (fancy you).

  • All tours take roughly 75 minutes and cost $20 ($15 for members), and flip-flops are not permitted (sorry Charlie).
