Bertrand de Soultrait emigrated from his native France to West Palm Beach to attend college and ended up launching a colorfully chic fashion line with his brother Arthur. Founded in 2005, Vicomte A. was inspired by the equestrian lifestyle upbringing the Soultrait brothers experienced in the French countryside. Today, their $20 million business operates more than 30 stores across 10 countries, including its first United States lifestyle location on Worth Avenue.
Favorite travel spot One of my favorite locations in the world is Lamu Island in Kenya (below). It’s a truly unique, exotic location boasting over 1,000-year-old Swahili traditions, merging East African, Omani, Yemeni, Indian, Portuguese and Victorian influences.
Favorite designer I have a great deal of respect for Hackett London. This renowned menswear designer has its own point of view based on authentic British style but with a distinctive take to keep things fresh.
Muse I get a great deal of inspiration from self-made business people. It is fascinating to see such success for so many men and women who do not even have a degree.
Must-wear from Vicomte A. I am truly fond of the men’s bathing suits (left). These pieces are fun and comfortable yet still emanate sophistication.
Personal passion Anything revolving around horses and the equestrian lifestyle. My brother Arthur and I were raised to embrace an aristocratic, equestrian lifestyle during our upbringing in the French countryside. Vicomte A. actually originated from our passion to create “differently elegant” riding attire. I spend much of my free time playing polo in Wellington. I also enjoy fox hunting in Burgundy, France.
Can’t stop watching The Apprentice. I enjoy the friendly competition and the ideas that come out of that.
Most recent coveted purchase My brothers and I bought a horse for my mum for Christmas.
Favorite artist Moby. I love his unique electronic/techno/alternative rock style.
Drink of choice Kir
Favorite dish The foie gras and steak frites (right) at Pistache French Bistro in West Palm Beach are truly amazing.
His idea of a fun Saturday night Going to an exciting nighttime show jumping event in Wellington and later enjoying the evening with friends at Cucina Dell' Arte Italian restaurant on Palm Beach.
How to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon To be honest, lazy isn’t really part of my vocabulary. However, I do enjoy relaxing with my family in Burgundy, France.

Never leaves home without A lovely goodbye kiss from my amazing girlfriend.
His Palm Beach obsession Of course, my No. 1 obsession on the island is our lifestyle store on Worth Avenue and chatting with clients. I also enjoy going to charity events; we are expanding Vicomte A.’s charitable initiatives to help make a difference in the community. Giving back is a top priority for our company.
