Panama Hatties & RumBar | North Palm Beach
Like something out of the Hatfield and McCoy feud, Waterway’s cross-ditch rival, Panama Hatties and RumBar, also opened in 1986, immediately drawing a line in the water: You're either you’re floating dock drinker or a beach bar kind of person. Stacked with indoor, dockside and sandy-floored tiki-side dining options, Panama Hatties is a one-stop shop for all your waterfront dining options.
The menu specializes in fresh seafood, though there is a smattering of all fare for those who crave the legged variety. If you’re looking to make it a Caribbean-themed kind of night, start with the Bahamian-style conch fritters, followed by either the chef’s catch or broiled Florida grouper, and top it all with the Key lime pie. For those with free will, the raw bar, sliders and taco selections are great for a quick bite and sharing—an excellent happy hour choice.
For more of a party atmosphere, the RumBar is the quintessential beach bar with Adirondack chairs parked in sand, wooden boardwalks connecting the two tiki bars and fire pits dotted throughout. Brass ring games are located throughout the area to settle bets on who’s picking up the tab. Daily happy hour specials, ladies night and karaoke make the Rum Bar one of the most popular bars in Palm Beach, while water taxi rides docking every half-hour (free Thursday throughSaturday) bring in the cruisers set from parts all over. For those looking for the best bang for their buck, the rum bucket will do you right. The dock is open to the public; however, dock space is limited.
