The Internet has changed nearly every aspect of our lives, even how we exercise. Nobody knows this better than Delray Beach personal trainer Franklin Antoian (right). In 2006, he launched iBodyFit.com (561-420-2959), a video exercise website, to keep in contact with his seasonal clients. Seven years later, his business has grown, attracting clients from London to Dubai, Palm Beach to Cape Town.
“It allows me to work with my seasonal clients when they go out of town. But it also allows me to work basically all over the world,” Antoian says.
Here’s how it works: iBodyFit hosts a number of free workout videos; those looking for Antoian’s personal touch can sign up for online personal training. Clients fill out a questionnaire regarding fitness goals and preferences, available equipment and starting stats (i.e. weight, cholesterol, blood pressure). Antoian then uses that information to create exercise videos that demonstrate a personalized workout routine. The number of videos can range from one to four a week, depending on the client’s goals. Clients keep Antoian abreast of their progress through the website as well as social media and email.
Antoian attributes the success of iBodyFit to the growing prevalence of online fitness as well as the comfort of being able to work out at home. “Don’t be afraid and think that the gym is where you need to be,” he says. “You can work out anywhere.”
