Local Attorney, National Fight for Justice

Theodore Leopold - Leopold Law - President of Pulic JusticePalm Beach County attorney Theodore Leopold (right), managing partner of the consumer justice law firm Leopold Law, was recently elected president of Public Justice. The national organization, headquartered in Washington, D.C., has been dedicated to justice with an onus on public interest through precedent-setting and individual and class-action litigation since 1982. With one of the widest-ranging dockets of any public interest law firm in the nation, Public Justice says it has gone after “deceptive pharmaceutical companies, irresponsible manufacturers, unscrupulous payday lenders, unjust employers, punitive credit card companies, unfair school athletic programs, inhumane government detention centers, dangerous food producers and reckless polluters” to enact public change for good. Currently, Public Justice is spearheading an antibullying campaign designed to hold accountable school administrators and teachers who fail to protect the students in their care.

Leopold joins the prestigious origination as president, heading a staff and private attorneys in the next round of public-interest cases bound to shape our collective future. He has a solid portfolio himself, with a seat on the steering committee in the National Managed Care Class Action and the plaintiffs’ settlement committee for the Ford/Firestone National Class Action. He also serves on the plaintiffs’ trial team in the Rail Freight Fuel Surcharge Antitrust Litigation.
