Tequesta Green Market
One of the calmer, more easy-going fresh market strolls, the Tequesta Green Market will return to Constitution Park every third Saturday of the month from October to April. The quaint, tranquil scene on Seabrook is filled with shady trees, pleasant seating areas and plenty of space for the kids to run and play (two jungle gyms at the interior of the park allow for parents to shop in peace as the kids play), while the paved track offers the perfect gangway for vendors to setup shop.
More than just a place for residents to grab some produce, the Tequesta Green Market’s goal is to foster a sense of community all while providing residents a place to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, locally sourced dairy and farm products (farm fresh eggs!), and artisanal crafts made by locals, helping stoke the local economy.
Offerings: Locally sourced, seasonal produce from Jupiter Produce Market and Hollis Produce; offerings from Francesca’s Terra Verde Farm Club; farm fresh eggs from Farriss Farm; soaps; fresh seafood; Honey Bee Skin Cream; Newman’s Soy Candles; even organic clothing from It’s Our Nature.
Prepared foods from local favorites include Breads by Johnny, a fan-favorite high school senior whose bread-baking ability pretty much ensures him a full culinary school ride; The Twisted Whisk (specializes in organic raw and baked treats); Daisy Cakes (red velvet treats from cupcakes to bonbons to whoopee pies—a Southern specialty); Not Just Teas and Cakes (jars of cookies, scones and breads); Dockside Seafood Dip (fresh, locally sourced and made fish dip); and the Hen House Chicken food truck (hormone and antibiotic free chicken goodies).
Extras: After a stroll through Constitution Park, make a trek across Seabrook to Gallery Square North for a dose of local art at the co-op Original Elements.
Special Events: Local entertainers frequently enliven the scene from the park’s gazebo. The schedule for 2013 is due out soon, so stay tuned.
