The Morikami's Sushi & Stroll Summer Walks

Stephen Brown

The unofficial start of South Florida’s summer is set for May 9 as the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens opens the gardens’ gate in the early evenings for the ever-popular Sushi and Stroll Summer Walks at the Morikami. One of the more popular events held at the gardens, the Morikami has been hosting these summer strolls through for 11 years now. Five take place each summer (May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, and September 12) from 5:30-8:30 p.m., giving visitors a chance to experience the gardens as the waning hours of daylight are splashed across the exotic landscape.

Guests can enjoy the grounds at their leisure, exploring the six distinct gardens at their own pace. Self-guided audio tours are available for those interested in learning about the gardens and the inspiration behind each unique and distinct section.

Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens - Sushi & Stroll Summer WalksAdding to the serenity of the gardens as the summer sun sets over the arching bamboo, the Morikami has mixed an array of elements, making the Sushi & Strolls one of the most enjoyable outlets in South Florida during the summer.
