Q&A with Mira Fain

Mira Fain developed an appreciation for vivid prints and Scandinavian design while spending time at her parent’s textile stores on Finland’s western coast. By age 6, she was already sewing and creating clothing for her dolls and, later, her friends. After graduating from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, she moved to Los Angeles and held sartorial posts at Guess Inc., ABS by Allen Schwartz, and Laundry by Shelli Segal. In 2004, while searching the internet for “happy dresses,” she came upon Lilly Pulitzer’s bright frocks; she joined the legendary company a few months later. As executive vice president of product design and development, she’s helped evolve Lilly Pulitzer into a global lifestyle brand that now includes sportswear, children’s apparel, and more. When she’s not designing, the West Palm Beach resident enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and supporting local charities like Loggerhead Marinelife Center.
