Q&A with Janet Pleasants

Janet Pleasants
Photography by Capehart

Everything that glitters is diamonds in the life of Janet Pleasants, who has worked in the jewelry industry since high school. A certified bench jeweler, she managed the Tiffany & Co. location on Worth Avenue for seven years before accepting a managerial position at Graff Diamonds in Palm Beach. During her tenure, Pleasants has helped many lucky buyers procure priceless pieces; she even aided tennis player Chris Evert in creating a custom diamond necklace to present to rival Martina Navratilova in honor of her eighteenth grand slam win. When she’s not crafting one-of-a-kind jewels, Pleasants enjoys relaxing at her Palm Beach home with her husband, former Palm Beach chief of police Michael Reiter, and supporting causes like cystic fibrosis and local organizations such as The Society of the Four Arts and the Flagler Museum.
