November 8-10: Miami City Ballet

Miami City Ballet will present its first show of the season at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach November 8-10. The program will include performances of Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, featuring choreography by George Balanchine and music by Richard Rogers; Stravinsky Violin Concerto, with choreography by Balanchine and music by Igor Stravinsky; and Mercuric Tidings, complete with choreography by Paul Taylor and music by Franz Schubert. November 9: Emily Asher’s Garden Party

Emily Asher’s Garden Party will perform at Arts Garage in Delray Beach Saturday, November 9. Although born in Seattle and based in New York City, Asher has a passion for New Orleans brass bands. The spirit of that musical tradition is alive and well in her group, which consists of her on trombone and lead vocals, backed by seasoned musicians on trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, upright bass, guitar, drums, and piano. November 9-10: Lynn Philharmonia No. 3

The Lynn Philharmonia will perform its third concert of the season November 9 and 10 at the World Performing Arts Center in Boca Raton. The program will include Mozart’s Concerto in B-Flat Major for Bassoon and Orchestra, Brahms’ Concerto in D Major for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 77, and Schumann’s Concerto in A Minor for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 54, among other selections.
