Whitney Miller Douglass, a Palm Beach resident, mother, and Hanley Foundation board member, is proud to spread awareness as Hanley’s Face of Recovery. Sober since 2017, Douglass is committed to drawing back the curtain on addiction, using her vulnerability to destigmatize the disease. Having grown up in a family where recovery is the norm, in which her father has been sober for 55 years and both sisters are in recovery, she passionately works to show that asking for help is the key to breaking generational cycles of addiction.
Since joining the Hanley Foundation board in 2022, Douglass has been an advocate for bold thinking and innovative initiatives. She is contributing to new projects, including Hanley’s new recovery cafe and workforce program at Hanley’s Resource Center, which provides work opportunities and meeting spaces for the recovery community. The coffee shop’s drink sizes, aptly named Serenity, Courage, Wisdom, and Ego, reflect her holistic approach to the work. Douglass is proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with a board dedicated to integrity and action, fueled by the conviction that every single human life is worth saving.
