A Melon Drink for May

Sip on this refreshing cantaloupe cocktail

Named after Maia—the nurturing Roman earth goddess who oversaw plants and blooms—the month of May always brims with excitement and potential. Whether it’s May Day, Mother’s Day, or the countless other celebratory occasions, raise your glass with a drink spotlighting the juicy, aromatic melon, which comes into season this month. Fragrant and sweet, this luscious fruit is an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A, and beta-carotene, especially cantaloupe. Enjoy it at its peak in this lovely elixir.

Can’t-Elope in Spring

Ingredients (makes 1 serving)

2 oz. pressed cantaloupe juice

1 oz. Bianco Vermouth

1/2 oz. St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur

2 oz. sparkling wine

1 oz. sparkling water

Add the juice, vermouth, and liqueur to a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a glass and top with the sparkling wine and water. Garnish with a slice of fresh melon or a melon rose.
