Summer is slowly coming to a close, but the City of West Palm Beach has made the most out of this special time of year with its season-long Summer in Paradise promotion. Since early June, residents and visitors have taken advantage of fun activities like glow-in-the-dark mini golf and festivals like Fourth on Flagler. The cornerstone of it all has been Aesop’s Tables, a grouping of 25 picnic tables painted by local artists to represent stories from Aesop’s Fables.
On August 31, the city will end the summer on a philanthropic note by auctioning off the picnic tables for charity. Every colorful table has already been assigned a local nonprofit beneficiary; the list includes the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Dress for Success Palm Beaches, Habitat for Humanity, Susan G. Komen South Florida, and The Arc of Palm Beach County, among many others. The auction will take place at the West Palm Beach Waterfront and begin at 7:30 p.m. during a special edition of Clematis by Night. Be there to support the arts and philanthropy in the Palm Beaches.
