Celebrate at CityPlace

For shopping fanatics, CityPlace in West Palm Beach is a magical destination year round. Come December, however, CityPlace ups the magic ante. Through the end of the month, the plaza hosts a gaggle of yuletide happenings—including daily moments of magic and a handful of cultural events.

Snowfall at Cityplace

Think you can’t enjoy a light snowfall in South Florida? Wrong! Every Monday and Wednesday at 6 and 7 p.m. and Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. a light dusting of faux snow falls in the heart of CityPlace. Lasting only a few minutes, the small storm looks positively ethereal against CityPlace’s sophisticated, silver Christmas tree. As if snow wasn’t enough to illicit visions of sugar plums, kids can also enjoy holiday train rides every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

On December 14, attend the free, Winter Wonderland-themed Family Fun Fest from 1 to 4 p.m. In addition to a snowfall and train rides, kids can take photos with Santa, make toys with his elves and donate toys to Toys for Tots. Adults will enjoy the handful of cultural and holiday performances throughout the plaza, as well.

This month, CityPlace also hosts a special Sunday Holiday Music Series. On December 7, shop and bop to the jazz styling of Nicole Yarling. On December 21, the jazz will come courtesy of Treebo. Complimentary gift wrap and photos with Santa will add to the holiday aura.

This year, Hanukkah lasts from December 16 to 24, and, on December 20, CityPlace’s magnificent Christmas tree will get some company with the Temple Israel Menorah Lighting on the Plaza.

Close out December and 2014 at CityPlace on New Year’s Eve with a fabulous celebration featuring live entertainment and—of course—snowfalls every hour leading up to midnight. To learn more about CityPlace’s holiday events, visit cityplace.com.
