John Roberts MD, MBA – Continuity Care

Dr. John Roberts is a distinguished cardiothoracic surgeon with decades of experience in advanced thoracic care. A summa cum laude graduate of Duke University, he earned his medical degree with honors from Yale University and completed his surgical residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He further refined his expertise through fellowships in surgical oncology and thoracic surgery (Harvard hospital) and served as chief of general thoracic surgery at Vanderbilt.

Dr. Roberts provides advanced, patient-centered surgical care for conditions affecting the lungs, esophagus, mediastinum, and chest wall. Utilizing both traditional procedures and state-of-the-art minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques, he treats a broad spectrum of diseases—from cancer and complex benign disorders to traumatic injuries and advanced chest conditions.

His expertise includes surgical treatment of lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal tumors including thymus (myasthenia gravis), airway and tracheal surgery (for tracheal and bronchial diseases), pleural diseases, and diaphragmatic surgery. Thoracic surgery may also be indicated for and benign esophageal disorders, recurrent pneumothorax, pleural effusions and empyema, and hyperhidrosis.
