Profile
For more than 40 years Dr. Henry Shapiro has offered the latest up-to-date care for his oncology and hematology patients. He takes pride in his compassionate and comprehensive care, making himself always available to his patients in both the office and hospital. Over the years, he has maintained a close relationship with Jupiter Hospital, having been instrumental in the development of its cancer center in the early 1980s, becoming its first director of oncology. As a senior member of Jupiter Hospital’s staff, he works closely with the oncology floor nurses and a group of highly experienced physicians in several different specialties. If needed, he can refer patients for transplant and investigational studies to Moffitt Cancer Center or other major cancer centers. Utilizing cutting-edge targeted therapy and immunotherapy, he incorporates genomic testing to determine individualized therapy. He has specific interest in melanoma, lung, gastrointestinal and genito-urinary cancers. His hematology interests include anemias and myeloproliferative disorders, i.e. polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia and myelofibrosis.
Dr. Shapiro has recently moved his office to 1680 Central Boulevard, Suite 112 in Jupiter, offering both laboratory and infusion services.
Caitlyn Harrelson, physician’s assistant, newly graduated from High Point University in North Carolina, is a great addition to his practice, offering expertise with more availability and communication. Both Dr. Shapiro and Caitlyn are truly dedicated to the health and wellbeing of their patients.
