Profile
Dr. John Kennedy is a pioneering, world-renowned orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports injuries, cartilage regeneration and preservation as well as biologic regenerative therapies and Nano arthroscopy of the lower limb. Dr. Kennedy was trained and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and has trained in prestigious hospitals affiliated with Tufts, Harvard, and Cornell, and currently works in West Palm Beach and New York City. He has trained hundreds of surgeons from more than 40 countries during a 30-year career. Dr. Kennedy is a clinical professor who has published over 300 peer-reviewed research studies and book chapters, conducted clinical trials, and has given more than 2,000 presentations at national and international conferences.
Dr. Kennedy treats all conditions of the lower limb, from ankle ligament sprains to arthritis to complex deformities. He is a world leader in orthobiologic therapies to preserve arthritic joints, treat cartilage, injuries and is a pioneer in Nano-arthroscopy of the ankle and knee. Dr. Kennedy’s team publishes extensively on orthobiologic therapies including platelet rich plasma, fat cell treatments, and stem cell therapies. His team is best-in-class, from basic science to clinical outcomes.
Dr. Kennedy was one of the first surgeons to perform in-office Nano-arthroscopy. This surgical procedure uses the smallest, state-ofthe-art mini-arthroscope at the tip of a needle as well as tiny surgical instruments to diagnose and treat foot, ankle, and knee injuries in the office setting. Local anesthetic permits the patient to observe their procedure in real-time without pain, allowing understanding of their injury. The tiny incisions facilitate rapid recovery and return to daily and sporting activities with minimal downtime. In West Palm Beach, Dr. Kennedy performs in-office Nano-arthroscopy procedures at the world’s first dedicated Nano-arthroscopy suite.
As one of the founding members of the International Society on Cartilage Repair of the Ankle (ISCRA), Dr. Kennedy has helped pioneer innovative technologies to prevent cartilage degradation. The ISCRA is comprised of leading experts in cartilage regeneration from over 40 countries and has established universal treatment strategies for ankle cartilage injuries.
Dr. Kennedy’s breadth of experience, extensive research background, and relentless dedication allows him to provide the highest level of care for his patients.
