Manatee Lagoon will welcome the community for a free, marine-themed Manatee Season Kickoff event to honor the annual migration of manatees to our waters November 15. This year’s theme, “Migration Celebration,” spotlights the journey these gentle giants undertake each season as they travel through Florida’s waterways.
The event will feature fun, educational activities, including a mini lecture series, face painting, food trucks, outdoor games, Manatee Tales Story Time, meet-and-greets with Mia the Manatee, and a showcase of environmental exhibitors.
In addition to the festivities, guests can enjoy Manatee Lagoon’s educational exhibits and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages.
Stay tuned for ManateeFest, Manatee Lagoon’s tenth anniversary celebration, on February 7. The milestone event will feature activities and special programming to commemorate a decade of marine conservation and education.
