Even Sweder

After a slight delay, Swede Fest Palm Beach 4, South Florida’s celebration of fantastically horrible films, will take place at the Palm Beaches Theatre in Manalapan on October 10.

Derived from the movie Be Kind, Rewind, swedes are spoofs of popular Hollywood films. For the last four years, Swede Fest Palm Beach has called upon area filmmakers to create three-minute remakes of blockbusters—the funnier the better. This year, the festival is completely volunteer run and presented by the Palm Beach International Film Festival and the Palm Beach Film Society.

Interested in submitting? Here’s what you need to know: Only one swede can be created per film title, so email your selection choice before rolling cameras. All films must be rated PG-13 and clock in at under three minutes. The deadline to submit is September 30. For a full rundown of the submission guidelines, click here.

Interested in attending? Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 at the door. Swede Fest typically sells out, so purchase your tickets ahead of time and prepare for a hilarious night at the theater.

Still from Jurassic Park The Swede.
