Adopt-A-Family’s 35th Annual Tree Lighting Celebration

Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches will once again host a time-honored, holiday island tradition at the beautiful Sailfish Club in Palm Beach on Tuesday, December 3. Event chairs Brenda McGarrity and Jen Dudnyk are finalizing plans to welcome guests to Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches’ Tree Lighting Ceremony, an evening that will feature the lighting of the organization’s beautiful Angel Tree.

Starting with a cocktail reception, the annual festivities will include live entertainment and a silent auction stocked with the exquisite live orchids, one-of-a-kind holiday decorating items, and other coveted treasures that guests excitedly anticipate all year. A gourmet holiday dinner and rousing live auction follow, all building up to the evening’s highlight moment, when Adopt-A-Family’s Angel Tree is illuminated to honor the donors and partners whose generosity has assisted thousands of homeless families and others in crisis to attain self-sufficiency and stability.

In the last year, Adopt-A-Family helped more than 2,771 families, either directly ending or preventing episodes of homelessness for 612 Palm Beach County families. In 2018, the organization broke ground for a new housing project in Lake Worth, and its Project Grow afterschool program had a 98 percent success rate of students promoted to the next grade level – far exceeding local and national averages. Adopt-A-Family also achieved its 12th consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, a national distinction less than one percent of nonprofits rate.
