Gavlak is excited to present a solo exhibition of new paintings by Candida Alvarez. The exhibition is titled “De Colores,” with an opening reception coinciding with the kick-off to New Wave Ark Wknd in Palm Beach. The exhibition will run until December 21, 2019. The reception will take place at Gavlak’s new location in SUITE M334 in The Royal Poinciana Plaza, Palm Beach.
Alvarez’s work “stumbles through what [she] thinks of as chatty abstractions that shape-shift and dream-catch both light and space. These investigations allow for [her] paintings and drawings to build abstract structures that mix and remix themselves, interweaving the narrative with the pictorial. [Alvarez’s] aim is to expand the hybrid space of painting while maintaining a crucial connection to daily life.”
