Cause It’s the Season, Let’s Flamingle!

Local Organization Hosts Flamingo – Themed Event to Raise Money to Support Victims of Domestic Abuse
WEST PALM BEACH – The YWCA of Palm Beach County will present ‘Cause It’s the Season, Let’s Flamingle!, a luncheon supporting the YWCA’s Mary Rubloff Harmony House, its 72-bed emergency shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence, on December 9, 2019.
The event will feature a champagne reception, an extensive silent auction, flamingo-themed giving tree, fabulous luncheon, and special entertainment including saxophonist Reginald Ellison and singer Rob Russell. The mistress of ceremonies will be Toni May, an Emmy-award winning television journalist who is currently Special Projects Producer at WPTV-TV. The highlighted speaker will be Jennifer Cahuna, a local attorney.
Felicia Taylor, retired anchor-correspondent formerly for CNN International’s World Business Today and noted documentarian serves as Legacy Chair of the event. Taylor is the daughter of Mary Rubloff Schott, Founding Benefactor of Harmony House and will be an honored guest. In addition, Women of the Western Communities and Business & Professional Women, Inc. will be recognized for the extraordinary contributions to the YWCA’s domestic violence shelter.
The event is co-chaired by Shawn Jan and Sharon Rinehimer who is also the 1st vice president of the YWCA’s Board of Directors. Rinehimer stated “we are thrilled to be involved with the YWCA’s signature event, not just because it raises much needed dollars to help women and children escape domestic abuse, but also because it’s such a fun and whimsical event with wonderful entertainment in a beautiful venue.”
