Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation Welcomes U.S. Representative Lois Frankel

August 30, 2017 @ 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation (EWPBF) is excited to announce U.S. Representative Lois Frankel, D-FL 22nd District, will share her views and perspective on current legislation at a special breakfast, Wednesday, August 30, 2017. The breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will take place at Keiser University, 2085 Vista Parkway, West Palm Beach, FL 33411.

“We are very excited to welcome in Senator Frankel,” shared EWPBF president, Denise Valz. “Senator Frankel has been a pioneer in our community and has made significant advances for women. We are very much looking forward to hearing from her about the current state of government and legislation that will affect us all.”

After serving 14 years in the Florida state legislature, including as the first woman Democratic Minority Leader, Frankel became Mayor of West Palm Beach in 2003, where she served for eight years. Lois was first elected November 6, 2012, to represent Florida’s 22nd Congressional District, which stretches from Riviera Beach in Palm Beach County to Ft. Lauderdale and Plantation in Broward County. She is the first woman to represent Florida’s 22nd congressional district. In Congress, she is a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure and Foreign Affairs Committees.

During her first year as a member of Congress, Frankel helped to pass the Violence Against Women Act re-authorization, worked to bring justice to victims of military sexual assault, and brought community leaders together to help address the serious issue of human trafficking in the South Florida community.

She is Chair of the Democratic Women’s Working Group, Co-Chair of the Congressional Women’s Caucus, and a member of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus. Learn more about Frankel’s career at https://frankel.house.gov.
