Leila Gives Back All Summer Long

Leila Restaurant is already known for the most delicious, authentically prepared Middle Eastern food in town. This summer, its owners want to do even more to thank the community that has contributed to their success.
Beginning in July, owners Akram and Mireille Awad will be supporting six Palm Beach County charities by donating 10 percent of their Wednesday dinner sales to a designated organization. “We wanted to launch our ‘Leila Gives Back’ evenings because raising awareness about nonprofits is something that is very important to our family,” they said.
Leila Gives Back kicks off on July 12 with Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope, an organization that eases the burden of qualified local cancer patients by paying their non-medical bills and providing information resources. On Wednesday night, July 19, Petals for a Purpose, an organization that brings joy to the lives of children, the elderly, and those living with disabilities by delivering recycled flowers from weddings, celebrations, and corporate events to youth organizations, shelters, hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice care facilities will be the recipient of 10 percent of the restaurant’s proceeds.
Community Partners has been Changing The Odds for over 30 years in Palm Beach County via a holistic blend of housing, community, and child and family mental health services dedicated to building resilience and cultivating promise. Community Partners will receive 10 percent of Leila Restaurant’s nightly proceeds on Wednesday, July 26.
On August 23, Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation will be the receiving organization. This nonprofit is dedicated to empowering women to succeed by inspiring integrity, equality, and leadership in the workplace and community. Ali’s Alliance, which has a mission to connect cancer patients, survivors and caregivers with the most current and relevant resources regarding treatment and local support through a user-friendly website, will be the receiving organization on August 31.
In addition to the regular menu, Leila patrons may request to order from a very special, three-course summer dinner menu featuring six mezza, seven entrée, and two dessert choices for just $24.99 per person including Mediterranean coffee. Choose from vegetarian favorites such as hummus with pita or tabouleh followed by Shish Tawook (chicken breast) or Shish Kebab (beef tips) both grilled in fresh garlic, olive oil, and lemon. Finish off your dinner with baklawa, a strudel-like dessert filled with pistachios and lightly sweetened with the essence of flowers. The combinations are nearly endless.
Casually-chic Leila Restaurant is a cosmopolitan grille featuring authentic, fresh, and healthy regional dishes for lunch and dinner along with traditional Mediterranean specialties like piping hot, crispy falafels. The special vibe that is Leila’s is unlike that of other South Florida establishments. On weekdays, choose specific items from “Leila’s Midday Mezze” to create your own sampling platter served fresh and fast.
Leila Restaurant offers belly-dancing entertainment each Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and 9:00 p.m. while guests who wish to do so can indulge in the smoothness of fruitful pipe tobaccos, blended especially for Leila’s old-world hookah. Engage your senses with a collage of colorful sights, smells, and tastes whatever time you decide to visit.
