Palm Beach Symphony Presents: Climbing Tomorrow
April 19, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
$10 – $100
Gershwin’s piano concerto, performed by award-winning pianist and recording artist, Misha Dichter, will close the Palm Beach Symphony’s season as part of his 75th birthday celebration tour. The closing concert will also feature one of Tchaikovsky’s greatest symphonies, the fourth, and a recent work by award-winning composer, HyeKyung Lee. This work was premiered at the Eastern Music Festival in 2018 to great acclaim. Commissioned by Palm Beach resident Bonnie McElveen-Hunter, it combines striking harmonies with a driving minimalist energy.
We are very excited to have as our guest conductor one of America’s finest, David Zinman. This innovative program takes the Palm Beach Symphony orchestra many strides forward, poising them for future artistic growth among audiences whose appetite for diverse repertoire is well expressed. With an eye toward the future and a nod toward featured composer Lee’s original composition, the Symphony has named their final masterworks concert of the season Climbing Tomorrow.
