Poetry is used as a vehicle to uplift, speak out, motivate and promote literacy. Often like stepping outside societal boxes, poetry allows you to paint a picture without explanation by using voice, eyes and body movement. Spitt Fiya’s Spoken Word Workshop objective is to provide a quality program designed to enable the poet to meet challenges in their lives with words, building confidence, and articulation skills. The instructor is a nationally known spoken word poet has performed from the heat of Mississippi’s delta to the city lights of New York and has found there is no greater pleasure than the voice of youth.
