Before succeeding Jon Stewart as the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show in September 2015, Trevor Noah worked as a radio DJ, a game show host, and a stand-up comedian. Born to mixed-race parents during South Africa’s apartheid years, Noah used his knack for linguistics (he speaks numerous languages, including Xhosa and German) to earn acceptance from his peers and to distract from his light-colored skin. Today, he employs his soft-spoken wit to muse on prickly topics ranging from health care to President Trump’s Twitter feed. On June 3, Noah will head to the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach to share personal, often hilarious stories that explore subjects like coming to America, working for the satirical news show, and having a name with no meaning.  — Kerry Shorr
