Even Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (305-667-1651) is getting in on the Basel action. On December 1, Brazilian artist Hugo França will debut his functional design pieces at the garden—a perfect setting, considering the organic nature of França’s work.
The artist uses reclaimed wood from felled or dead trees to create furniture objects that transcend function to reach the realm of visual art. His sculptural chairs are particularly compelling. Through May 31.
